Description
Castel filter shells
The Castel filter shells with replaceable core are roughly divided in 3 main chapters “Classic”, “Polyhedra” and “GoGreen”. They are available in 4” and 6” diameter and depending on your choice suitable for 1, 2, 3 or 4 cores. This could either be the drier execution (type A) or the mechanical filter (type C). The extension “F” in AF and CF stands for steel welding connections. The steel bushes are also calibrated for soldering connections.
The correct use of the shell can be determined from its description;
“CO2” = Only suitable for R744, vice versa. Are you selecting a filter shell for CO2? Then you will have to choose type 4411E or 4412E. Only available as drier type A, not as a mechanical filter type C.
“(HC)” = Suitable for refrigerants in the Polyhedra group (and several from the Classic group) including HC refrigerants. However, if you are using R290 you are obliged to obtain types 4411/..AF or 4412/..AF as a drier as well as ../..CF as mechanical filter.
Filter shells without both mentioned codes can be used with all Classic refrigerants.
